課程概述

The purpose is to help freshmen students not familiar
with mathematical writing. This course is different from Discrete mathematics, since the
focus is on writing mathematical proofs, not on learning any new topic. The goal is to be
comfortable with reading and writing basic mathematical proofs. We will only use very
basic mathematics as illustration. The grades will only be pass/fail.

 Being comfortable with reading and writing mathematical proofs, which can be useful for
taking future theoretical computer science courses.
